1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, "The Black Lions." are based at Fort Riley, Kansas. They are currently on deployment in Iraq.

On Friday evening, June 8, 2007 around 1945 hours, Battle Company assisted in delivering medical supplies to Furat’s local doctor. Dr. Tahrir is one of the many spokesmen for the people of Furat and has always sought to improve the state of his community. Battle Company’s first platoon (“The Maniacs”) facilitated the delivery. First Platoon’s Medic Doc Arrick (PFC) and his sergeant, Doc Sutton (SGT), made the delivery.
